The Zodiac represents a set of energies that the Earth receives during its journey around the constellations of the Zodiac.
These energies are both challenges and resources for experimenting aspects of the self. It is also the imprint of the energies with which one evolves, and has evolved (karmic remains), that he must learn to master and overcome.
It can be easy to identify with an archetype, related to a sign, because it seems better or we have more affinity with it. However, I think that during its journey, the soul has to experience all the signs, therefore their energies without identifying with them. It is a coloring which allows one to make an experiment. It is not an end in itself, since the end is the unification of these different aspects of consciousness. The evolution through the Zodiac is, on the other hand, not specific to a single life, but to the path of the soul, even to a collective path of souls.
Astrology is also learning about different perspectives and how to harmonize them, when you learn to do it with the Zodiac -which are like twelve points of view, each with valid needs and expression, incomplete and complementary at the same time, you can do it also with part of ownself or people who have different goals and belief by listening to their needs.
« It is through archetypes and creational myths that spirit manifests into matter. To see the interconnection of these patterns is extremely empowering in our personal spiritual growth and by seeing how our energy impacts the larger whole. » L. Renée
However, from what I understand, the Zodiac has been altered in such way that only the most coarse and limiting aspects of these energies and archetypes are expressed, at least in a non-conscious person. An energy, a symbol has indeed multiple ways to manifest itself from the most subtle to the most dense, and depends on the person who receives it (its purity in the sense of healing and dismantling of the ego) and what he does with it. I take the example of the energy of Scorpio, depending on the person who receives it, his level of understanding, conscious and self mastery, it can manifest behaviors of abuse of power, violence, domination, uncontrolled sexuality … or on the contrary the opposite, that is to say self-knowledge, power over oneself, transcendence, highlighting the darkness to synthetize it, overcoming the self, integrated power in the service of the collective …
It is the same thing with certain planets whose aspects have an influence on the Earth through certain alignments. Among the variations of energies that a planet can produce, many of them have been blocked at their lowest aspects (I think of Saturn). This can be seen as additional difficulties, but it can also be a tool for growth, a bit like a wound being press on. Yes it hurts, but it allows us to identify the wound and to heal it. For me it’s the same with the energy of the Zodiac, how the blockages push me to mastery.
The energy of the Zodiac is therefore, as I see it, not deterministic in itself, but can be an additional weight placed on an immature humanity. The individual is stuck in certain energies from lifetimes to lifetimes, unable to overcome them, stuck in patterns and archetypes. For instance, I abused an energy in one life, so I experience the opposite now, and so on without really unifying.
I also think that it is written in the sky what happens here on Earth, thus, by integrating a thirteenth sign (brought by the procession of the equinoxes) we unblock certain energetic and karmic blocks. We « unlock » the Zodiac, its karmic limits, its too strong archetypes, and we unify. The introduction of this thirteenth sign can also have the opposite effect of amplifying the archetypes in some individuals, since it wakes up what is being cleaned.
The birth chart expresses different aspects of ourselves, more or less conscious, and certain things that the soul has come to experience. It is a bit like its roadmap. Both the residues of energies from past lives, and the challenges and potentials to be manifested. Only the person chooses to do it or not.
I think we have to be careful about the risks of infiltration of this information by the ego. The chart is an imprint of these energies, and very often the head will want to put a meaning on it which has nothing to do with what we are supposed to live (as predicting the future for example). The energy of a sign or a planet can manifest itself in many different ways. Trying to understand these archetypes in a rigid way can lead to blocking the individual in false representations of himself, rather than helping him evolve. There is no pride in being more one sign than another. These are just aspects of oneself that the soul has come to experience and the resources that are available to him. Sometimes it may be necessary to know them, sometimes not, depending on the resonance of each person. Everyone receives the energy of the Zodiac anyway, whether he is conscious of it or not, and in his own way.
On the other hand a soul is not a sign. Each person will use some signs more than others, learn to reconcile with some signs, or integrate some of them.
For me, working on one chart never stops, the lessons repeat, always with a new flavor and maybe less pain and difficulties to move through them. Like for instance the Piscean phase repeats each year at the same period to help us learn more about it, have a clearer or a deeper experience of it. For me it is the same with the birth chart, it is like polishing, cleaning and sublimating the chart to make it evolve at a higher level, with a new and brighter expression each time coming from inside.
