Since the beginning of August 2023, the astrological Nodes, that represents the movement of the collective at a given moment, have moved into the Libra-Aries axis. So the North Node, the collective lesson of the moment, is pointing towards Aries.
Throughout this 1.5-year transit, the emphasis is, as I understand it, on learning how to manage and integrate this Aries energy, and thus to master our vital energy, to learn how to assert ourself, to be true and authentic, to stop being part of the consensus, or do things only for others and their acceptance, but to develop one’s sense of self, one’s own point of view, truth and path, to increase our connection to the intimate desires of our soul, and learn how to set limits if necessary. It is a relationship axis, so all that is connected to relationship can work through our life to teach us something when the Aries Libra axis is activated like this. The North Node in Aries is also about managing our impulses and fears, our instinctual body, creative energies, our energetic fuel, and how to use it to its fullest potential. These can be some of the topics we experiment with and learn from throughout the year.
This may involve situations where we have to fight, show courage, set boundaries, overcome challenges, face our fears, manage conflicts, set limits, use our warrior energy in a certain way, but with mastery, since it’s a question of being aware of how to use this Aries energy, and not letting ourselves be dominated by it in useless and endless conflicts. It’s about learning what this Aries energy is for, when to release it and how.
The South Node which is in Libra, on the other hand, represents what we’re invited to let go of, or transforme/refine for a time, and here, it is about all the excesses of the Libra, we let go of too much emphasis on other people’s opinions, passivity, lack of authenticity, compromise, the unspoken, putting conflicts under the carpet to preserve harmony, but which can cause them to swarm in the long term if not managed…
Of course, since Aries is the sign of Mars, in its lower energy, it represents recklessness, haste, survival mode, war, conflict, fear, aggression, violence… On an unconscious/reversed level, it can multiply experiences of violence, war, terror, anything that brings out Aries’ survival energy, as we’ve seen with natural disasters/conflicts Armageddon programs. In a way, it is for me like it’s exciting Aries’ adrenalin and sense of fear, in a non-organic way, not so that it releases this energy when appropriate, but all the time and in any way, by switching on survival mode and cortisol, scrambling the messages of threat and stress received by the brain. This Aries energy has a function, but if non conscious and mastered it can block us into the lower aspects of it, which really seems to be like red waves, low martian energies of the fear of survival and all the instinctual fears. On the contrary I think that we’re supposed to better understand this Aries function, and transcend/express it at its higher level this year, all that is also related to the sense of self, the ego and the true nature of what we are (the I’am of Aries).
So there’s this backdrop of particularly activated Aries, and then there’s Pluto planet of death and transformation squaring the Nodes at this time, and Mars conjunct the South Node in Libra. Mars, planet of war, and Pluto, planet of depth and death, are also in square, a tense aspect.
So the symbols which, in the negative, represent war, violence, death and destruction, are in tension and in aspect to this collective karmic axis, the axis of the Nodes. It can also talk about the surfacing of experiences/memories of wars, old conflicts in order to clear and not repeating again and again the same patterns of victim victimizer,with Mars conjunct the South Node square Pluto. On a higher level, it can talk about going into the inner worlds to collect the pieces of oneself, or collective pieces to be whole again, as Chiron (healer) is conjunct the North Node and Pluto (death and rebirth) square the Nodes. There can be an initiation around how we overcome our fear of death, and an exploration of a part of ourself that is a true identity that never dies (North Node in Aries square Pluto).
We’re asked to harmonize our warrior energies (Mars Libra then Mars in Scorpio), to purify and transmute our violence and instincts/fears (Mars square Pluto) to truly learn the lesson of the North Node in Aries (right affirmation, sense of self), clearing karmic patterns around relationship and affirmation (Pluto square Nodes in Aries Libra’axis, and Mars in Libra),
If reversed, this energetic potential can activate karmic and collective fears (South Node conjunct Mars) of attack, passivity in the face of violence, destruction of the beautiful… (Mars Libra) and with this fear of death, destruction, annihilation hovering over us – Pluto square the Nodes and Mars – an aspect which should organically take us even further in the transformation of Pluto’s shadows, of the unconscious, the awareness of hidden karmic links to truly purge these fears, our ego, attachment to an identity (North Node in Aries true identity, South Node conjunct Mars Libra what we let go of, false sense of self based on others).
The advice can be to purify our head/mind, and recover our central nervous system without all those unconscious stimuli as Mercury, esoteric ruler of Aries, reminds us.
Indeed, Aries is a sign connected to the head, and the law of mentalism. So for me the North Node in Aries talks about the lesson of mastering our brain, to master and be aware of our fears and creative energy, and and so what’s manifested in our reality, while being alert to real dangers (integrated Aries functions) from the unreal (unbalanced and over- or under-functioning instincts, fear programming).
Sun conjunct Pallas Athena, the asteroid of the creative mind, warrior strategy, ingenuity, wisdom, so it is like an energy highlighted by the Sun that we can rely on, its intuition, the visionary spirit and fine intelligence of Pallas, and the ability to see behind forms and transcend one’s thoughts.
On the positive side, Chiron (asteroid of healing) is conjunct with the North Node for several months, so it seems to outline a path of collective healing for those ready to take it.
